Being married we learn to take family traditions from both sides of the union, as well as the creative fun of making up our own traditions. Easter is no exception. Last night before bed we explained to Kaleb the reason for Easter one last time (we knew it would be pointless once candy was in front of him). Then we told him to go to bed so that the Easter bunny could come bring him a basket of candy and toys! When he woke up in the morning he came into our room and woke us up (although we were already awake and had already taken care of the baskets!)...We went into the living room and watched as Kaleb tried and tried to get the front door open - he just knew that there was something special on the other side. Finally, VICTORY! The door swung open and sure enough there were two baskets sitting there for him and his sister.

We brought them in and slowly went through them! They both took to their toys with great enthusiasm! Kaleb got a pair of flip flops, some cool sunglasses, some swimming trunks, some matchbox cars, a "go diego go" bathrub bike, and some candy!

Cameron got a big chain of links in all sorts of different colors, some had animals on them, others had different textures. She got a book with chew tabs and crinkle pages, squeeky pages, and fuzzy pages! She also got these three animal boxes that fit inside one another that make different sqeeky noises and textures...and candy of course, for me and Joe to eat!

We had to limit Kaleb to 4 pieces of candy as we still had to go to church and a sugar crash wouldnt be fun! Then we dressed in our best for church! When we got home from church we (me and Joe) changed clothes real quick and then headed down to my parents to celebrate an Easter dinner with them. It was a lot of fun. On the way to my parents, Joe and I stopped by the building where we had our ring ceremony after our wedding and took some pictures of the kids!

It was a beautiful day, full of love and beauty. A real reminder as to why we are striving for the blessing we are, no matter the struggles or temptations...at the end of the day our eternal family is the greatest choice of all.
