Food, Fun, and Good Times

Where to begin?!!! Its been a while since my last post and I have a hundred photos to filter through and try to blog. I'll try to get several done today!

So - Food and Fun - over the last few weeks we have made lots of little crafts and food projects...I will show a picture and just do a small description!! We have been having so much ooey gooey fun!!

First things first - PAINTING!! I got these great little real canvas paintings from Michaels. They had several different pictures to choose from and were only $3!! I got Cameron a little butterfly girly one and Kaleb a pirate one...Arrgh Matey! They had a blast painting - they especially loved their trash bag paint smocks I made them! haha, they say necessity is the mother of invention!! :)

The night Grandma and Grandpa Whitney came to visit we decided to make a BIG chef salad. We put cucumber, celery, lettuce, tomatoes, eggs, broccoli, cheese, and more into it! It turned out great and we made so much that we got to eat off of it for two days!! I snuck into the bathroom after slicing some eggs and cheese. This is what I cam back too!! The kids had pulled a chair up and laid claim to the food. Cameron carefully piled egg into her mouth while Kaleb not so carefully shoveled cheese into his!! You gotta love the little munchkins!
Daddy and Cameron made brownies! The first brownies Joe has made EVER in our family!!! He came home from work and was craving brownies so him and Cameron snuck into the kitchen to make some! They also snuck some into their mouths!! They turned out really really good too!! Goop!! Joy School last time had a small discussion on magic - what better way to see "magic" then corn starch goop!! We used food coloring to make purple, teal, pink, and blue goop! The kids loved it - one minute its liquid, touch it and its a solid!! I'm still getting the goop out of the lines on my dining room table! haha...but boy was it worth it to see the curiousity in the kids' eyes as it ooozed over the table and yet the could just pick it up!?! haha Amish Bread!!?! I have only ever gotten this Amish Bread or "Friendship Bread" one other time before and I didnt complete it - so this time when Michele brought me some dough I decided I was going to follow through and make this bread. I mushed and mushed my bag each day and then added the ingredients as the time came. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the finished product, it was beautiful, but eaten too fast! haha...it was SOOOOOOOO good! I passed out 3 more bags to my sister and her friends and kept one more for myself to be able to make it again! Sooo good! The kids LOVED it! It is almost like a coffee cake or something, very tender and has lots of cinnamon and sugar! Yes, good!!
